Re: Best Wire for Building a Track

Hi.
As I am using MDF and routing the path coiled wire works ok.

But the trick to straighten a coiled wire is by running/pull it through a tight hole in a wooden block at a slight angle. It will give you an almost straight wire.

Re: Best Wire for Building a Track

I agree with you Need, going for a thicker wire will make an easier build. For me building from coiled piano wire, turns are no problem, but you will need to straighten it before laying straights. You do save some cost buying coiled wire.

Re: Independent Front Suspension

As I remember the flex chassis flexed too much in the middle so the magnet will also move up and down. Making it only twist longitydinal is quite difficult. But I'll giv it a thaught to see if I can com up with a solution. Fixing the front end with only on bolt up front in the middle is maybe a thin...

Re: Track routing with Maslow-cnc 0.7mm bit

I did route it at 0.9 mm deep to have some play. Work great. Finding a technique to lay it flush with the surface is important. Lesson learned. Do the routing in a single pass slowly to avoid miss-aligment. Not what you normally do with never deeper than half of the diameter. One or 2 small nails or...
