Re: Modular tracks

Now here is something interesting... 140 cm x 70 cm...

That might work well for MAGracing, what do you think? Or would it be too tight?

Re: Modular tracks

Hi Lasp, I was just showing the way I joined the track pieces together. The pieces of cardboard are 2033mm x 860mm and which corner are you interested in? The small one on the pit entrance is too small you have drive very slowly to make it around.

Re: Modular tracks

How about pocket screws to join the pieces. I would use hardwood because these ones are pine and they split. They are easy to use and are adjustable for tension. I used the guard rail foam to cushion the wood.

Re: Modular tracks

I'm sure it would work Lasp, the only thing I can think of is with reverse on the cars it's nice have room to back up.

Re: Modular tracks

On the topic of size, would it make sense for the track pieces to fit in a closet or a car like Lasp said? One thing that had been mentioned before was to standardize with all of your friends so you get together to make a huge track race outside or at large venue. The other thing I thought of would ...

Re: Modular tracks

Hi Dan, That's interesting that you thought of the floor mats. One of our local racers thought of the same thing, he had bought some that were 2'x2'. He was thinking to glue some wood to the top and use the interlocking sponge to hold it together. I am sure it would work. I am still designing and ke...

Bright Lights

I was pondering what to do for the MAGJag lights and thought of this. I went to the parts bin and found some old LED's, they do run warm so I think a resistor is in order... Might we use the body mount magnets for connections? They don't go out when you wipe out but they do slow the car down. Night ...

Re: Tyres and batteries

I have to mention that one thing that I really liked when I first saw the MAGracers is that I would never have to buy another set of tires. After years of 1/24 scale and buying or making sponge tires weekly the silicone 1/32 tires are great, glue them true them and keep them clean. I am sure a MAGra...

Re: the braking

I am still testing, what I did notice was that the car did not seem to be consistent with top speed or braking. So I was looking at the car and noticed that there was something stuck on one of the battery magnets. I cleaned the magnet off and lost the brakes and gained the top speed back. I have bee...
