Re: Figure 8?
Thanks for the feedback. Raudi and I had been debating which is easiest for a ramp and initially I had thought the foam ramp would be easier and allow for a more custom looking ramp. After having tried a small 1 inch ramp as a test, it looked as if the wiring was going to be the hard part. Thanks fo...

Re: My Big MagTrack
I don't want to come across as a nit-picker here but I'm just pointing out a quick issue or two I see with the track. The main issue at present with the track layout is that from the entrance of the straight in the very lower left all the way to the end of the second straight in the top left, there ...

Re: planning radius / lane change / pit
In raudi and it's testing so far, there doesn't seem to be much of a minimum distance between where two lanes join and another lane change starts. I believe Wes recommended about 20" on his website but we have a few with as little as 5-6" and there seems to be no problem. The biggest issue...

Re: Figure 8?
I like the foam work on the hills, as you said it looks like they could stand to be a bit smoother in future tracks, but we're all learning at the moment. May I ask how you smoothed the slope of the track in the foam? Did you use a power sander or what? What grain sandpaper and what kinda styraphome...

Re: You have too trye
Just to add to the discussion here. Most pcb boards like this need some way to program the chips so they know what they are doing. That is almost defiantely what the connector is for.

Video of the battery dying
So raudi and I got the cars the other day and were testing the cars on an unfinished bit of track. I knew the batteries dropped off pretty quick, but we hadn't expected this  Anyways, here's a video of us trying out the track and having the battery die on me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxf5...

Re: 'Routing the Keld method' (Dremel saw)
Yes, raudi and I got started on the track and the routing seemed the easiest way so far. I'd like to see what the traction difference is between painted wood vs painted cardboard vs painted plaster. I'm sure the thickness of the paint also plays a role. We've taken a lot of photos and should be able...
