Welcome to the forum, Bryan...I have some batteries and a charger for you, but they sent the wrong kind of plug.
I'll get one from Radio Shack and get it mailed to you, hopefully tomorrow

Re: My Big MagTrack
We have raced on here every Friday night for the last 5 weeks, and last night was the breakthrough. Up to now it has been a crashfest, but last night the guys got serious and it looked more like a race. We had 11 drivers and ran 4 minute heats with 7 cars. Each driver had a different car each heat, ...

Nice track, and I like the guard rail idea.

Re: Batteries and charger arrived today
I now have 8 cars and 28 batteries. We've done a few hours of testing/practicing and 5 race nights of over 100 minutes per night.
Batteries last well over one hour, but so far I've had 2 batteries that didn't want to charge up. Anyone else experience that?

Re: How wide do you wanna go?
We used 4" spacing on our track, so the painted roadway is about 9" wide. But we've also allowed 3-4" of "dirt" to allow for running off the wire. We could have painted it all gray, then we'd have a 16-17" roadway. I think it's important that cars coming off the wire do...

Re: Tire Options
We used cheap flat Latex, and nobody here is complaining about lack of traction (or slow speeds). I used a sharpie too, but it wore off pretty quick. We've had two race nights now, racing 7 cars for over an hour without changing a single battery! We run 5 minute heats, then change cars until everyon...

Re: Tire Options
I like your track
I have masking tape on all the rear tires and figure the traction is just about right. The guys are getting much better at driving, too. Starting to get some good dicing.
Really looking forward to having reverse...no more marshals...yeah!

Re: My Big MagTrack
There's no nit-picking...we're all experimenting and learning as we go. My track plan is just a rough guide, once I start, it will all change. One of the strong points of this system is how easy it is to change parts of the track that cause problems. The next track will not have any elevations, beca...

Re: My Big MagTrack
The lap counter is on a slowish part of the track, but it's possible to nudge a car off the wire so it won't run across the sensor. Having a lap counter/timer sure changes the way guys drive. We were going to award bonus points for the hot lap in each heat, but that just made everyone go too fast. J...

Re: My Big MagTrack
Lasp...feel free to copy it Paul...there's some random lane changing on our present track, but I think it's because a front wheel may be a bit tighter causing a car to pull slightly in one direction. I think it adds to the fun. Because I like to rout the groove for the wire 1/8" wide, for the r...
