Wheel Inserts

Hi All, I noticed that some of the slot car wheel inserts fit the MAGracer wheels. These are Slot.It PA34 for the Lancia Group C Car. I see there are many others but I not sure if they will fit. I only used the center and the brake disk glued to the back of it, then glued both to the wheel. I drille...

Re: Problems with wire and magnetism

Hi Bernd, Glad to hear that you have built yourself a track! A couple of things would be noteworthy. You can go a little bit above the wire with the plaster and then sand some of the plaster away to get the height just to the top of the wire. Also the self locking nut on top of the steering arm is a...

Re: the braking

The braking effect is quite dramatic! Kind of neat, if you let the trigger go quickly you can get very heavy braking. Or just hit reverse and cause a skid! Or just gently slow down with no braking as it was before the change. It will take a bit to get used to but my first impression is good....

Re: Incline

Vance22 was looking for a video of more cars on this track, so here you go. Lots of wipe outs because of the off camber corners. The cars have the Grease Monkey rubber tires on them, one of the drivers was a complete novice. Not bad for the first time out.

Re: The track surface

:rolf eewwww is right! Well it did stir up OK, made a small batch thinned with alcohol. Still had trouble getting though the pin striper, just too gritty. First test showed no effect on the car for steering, but they recommend two coats. I don't think you have enough mass. I think that might be enou...

Re: The track surface

I would tend to agree with Mike about the magnetic paint. But would it work as a lane change plate? I remembered that I have some and will try it out if I can get it to mix up. They recommend that you stir constantly for consistency. It has been sitting for a few years and was bulging under pressure...

Re: MAGjag

Hi Mike, Yeah, I can be funny that way too. I like to try make most things from scratch if I can but as you said why reinvent the wheel? Good thought about the headlights, fill them in a bit and the original should fit easily after being widened. I am thinking about doing the 1956 version that won L...

Re: MAGjag

Hi Mike, Yes it will melt right into the plastic. It will be soft for about a day and then harden up. You can use to your advantage if you are good with a knife or a pair of scissors you can trim it while it is still soft. If you are sanding it and it comes away from the main part add a little more ...
