Hello from Germany

Post by walker »

Hello,

I´m looking forward to what is going on here. I am still an active slotracer, but I tend more and more to Magracing.

Hello Roland
Welcome to the forum.....I think.

As an active member of the Repap community. I think our paths have crossed before.

http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?2,151 ... msg-151358

Is this you? If so are you going to say how simple everything is, do a few diagrams and then move on. Do you ever actually complete anything?

In Swisttal I raced before they built the SPA track, In Frankfurt (RCF ) a few times at the LMES series.
Neumünster - never.

We have not been into touch somewhere and somewhen before.

As I wrote ( if you read it ) I am still active in slotracing but very interested in the magracing principle, too.
If you want this thread being spammed with photos of what I completed during the last 45 years of active and very successful ( worldwide ) slotracing, it´s no problem to copy my complete Photobucket account and put it in here.
Your comment sounded a bit presumptuous taking into account neither you know me nor I know you. So it might have been better to start a bit more modest.

So or so - the way you open the conversation with an interested newcomer is definitely not the way to get new members. Maybe you are still too young and unexperienced regarding socialising with other people, I don´t know. Don´t worry, it is quite easy to learn. :thumpup

Kind regards,

Roland

Sorry Roland lets start again.

Welcome to the forum. I would love you to post up some pictures of your scratchbuilds, particularly any 1/43 ones you have.

I hope you remember I wrote about still being in slotracing, not in magracing yet.

Here are two different 43rd scale slotcar models - different in size and chassis material.

As you see the Camaro is built on PCB, the Mini on piano wire/spring bronze.

Getting the magrace equipment into the Mini might be difficult, on the other hand I remember the MICROSIZERS. I think it is only a matter of how far one intends to go :beer .

I really love these models, particularly the Mini. One of your other post mentioned that you thought you could get the magracing equipment in there. Have you achieved steerable front wheels in this scale?

If you can do this even in brass, we may be able to do something. The motor position would need to change and be smaller, and the battery would need to reduce, but the new gear I am working on has long run times, so perhaps we could get away with this. one big advantage of saloon cars is that they have a bit more headroom, so the radio gear could go higher. Unfortunately we would lose the clear windows.

I did not write I think I could get the magracing equipment into a 43rd scale car. I wrote

"What I have to find are components which are as small as possible AND work efficiently."

It seems you have no idea about the Microsizers.

Tinker a bit with them and you will see what I mean.
