Finally getting started

Post by Smittoh »

Well I finally got started on my track today. :klap
Since the design is intended to be modular I have some extra work to do and unfortunately I won't be placing wire for a while.
I am however pleased with the progress ...also pleased that things seem to be going together nicely. :thumpup
Attached are e few photos on basic layout and how I intend to snap the track together.

Alas...much more work to be done.

more photos...
The edging is 1/4" plywood. Thinking of just using wood glue to attach it but may decide on hardware.
The edging has added some nice strength to the XPS board without adding a ton of weight.
The test clasp butted up the edging quite nicely...YAY!!! :beer

XPS is kinda pricey (about the same as MDF but I figured that if the track doesn't work out I can always recycle the insulation board and add it somewhere in the house or perhaps make an insulated raised planting bed to help reduce water evaporation from the soil.

Im decently confident this is going to work though... How well ?...we will see.

Cheers!

Wow... I forget how long things like this can take ...mostly because life gets busy (not a bad thing) just slows progress sometimes.
Any-hoo Ive finally have a functional modular track!
Yay!!!
