The oval is just about finished and I am pleased with the result (see pic. attached)
Had 4 cars running tonight. Great fun and, as always, we learned a lot. Just
minor alterations tomorrow! The lap counter worked perfectly and it is very
useful to check lap times for the inner and outer lanes. As Mike says, the aim
is to get both lanes equal. 4.7secs for the inner and 4.8 for the outer is not far
off. Using the racing line for the outer lane turns saves perhaps .1 secs but
it all counts. The body mountings have all been modified in various ways and
I am still not sure which will be the best. Hopefully we will have videos
next week. Our idea is to have one compulsary pit stop each race, car to come
to a standstill. The pit lane is not lap counted so the race lead will change
for sure.

Your track looks really good, HOW DID YOUMAKE THE GRANDSTANDS? I made the pit area at the end of my motordrome last week. The grandstands would top it all off. 4 days of good weather soon. 8 cars almost ready. anxious to test. Track has been in storage because of rain. Ken

Sorry Ken, I missed your post. After much searching on Google I found a crowd
photo which was square to the stand and with no perspective distortion. So what you see is about 8" wide prints pasted onto hardboard panels. I had to move the whole
track 3" from the wall to get the angle/slope of the stands. I will post the photo so
anyone can use it but the resolution may not be quite so good.
Hi Joel, Afraid the lap counter is just for show. The real one is just a computer
monitor hidden from view. Something on these lines would of course be possible.
Just need the finances to do it.
