A slot, that's to bad. Well you already kinda mentioned it in your title. I think its a pity to swap the wire for a slot since being able to get back onto the wire after an 'off' situation so easily seems a big advantage. Also as noted in my post here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=297&p=2985#p2921 I think it is possible to create something more flexible. Using a wire you might also be able to make multiple wire space options on the back side (donno if that gives enough stability) and then dependent on the actual wiring create the layout.

Any particular reason you chose a slot instead of a wire?
