Here are a few pictures of my 1998 Mercedes CLK-LM. I bought this body on eBay.
This is the first car I built using Chassis Kit CK2 which is available at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/magracingunlimited The wheels and tires are from a slot car.
The rear axle and spur gear are from a slot car. The front stub axles are made from 3/32” diameter x ½” long stainless steel rivets.
The body by itself weighs 28 grams. The entire car with the battery weighs 87 grams. This is an unusually heavy car.
As you can see in the photo below, this car is much larger than the Porsche 910 Spyder beside it, which was built on Chassis Kit CK1.
Part of the cockpit had to be removed to get the body to fit properly relative to the wheels. Three magnets glued to the body are used to hold the body and chassis together. The bumper is made from the bumper plate of a stcok magracer. Despite the heavy body, this car runs very well on my track but the top speed is slower and the acceleration is quicker because of the larger spur gear.
