I have made several test on servo based fronts.
One problem is the influence of the motor-magnet on the steering with the servo is paced between the front wheels.
So I'm now going to test linear servo placed vertical.
It can also provide a more direct linkage.
Still a very much WIP.
Here is picture of my ideas. And a link to sourcing the servo. Sorry, that link was horrible. Just search 'linear servo' on aliexpress.
An other benefit is a very short overhang at the front.
Alternative front assembly.

This on is going to be tested.

Re: Alternative front assembly.
Testing shows I have a too wobbling 'guide'. It bend down at the magnet force.
So testing now is a guide with a recess in the chassis. The guide will slide on top and not be able to dip down and 'bite' the track. It will probably give me a more constant height of the magnet. Hopefully without giving to much extra resistance sideways.
PS don't mind the color. Using leftovers for testing
