Drawing / routing the RaceLine. The helping arms.

Post by kiklo »

Doing it by hand pose some problems.
After some thought I checked the internet to see if he agreed with me.
And yes we where on the same track.

Still missing the router/pen connection but my 3D printed ellipse arms are working.
If I might say, quite fascinating to watch.

I put on some tape to make it easier to see.

I found that if using Scalextric tracs starting and ending in the thin groves where the power-lead where would be a good choice.

Ok, So it is possible not the ideal race-line. But when using track-pieces you get the inn and out parallel to the normal lanes.

If you make it on a full size board you would probably use a normal constant radius like the outer lane (minus the 5-10 mm offset) and put the pivot point to start the racing-lane earlier in the turn.

I'll make a new video to show.

HELP needed :
Does anyone know how to get the green elliptical crossing each other in the middle of the 2 normal lanes.

As you can see they cross where the 2 Scalextric pieces connect and if I could get that crossing at the midpoint of the the track it would be possible to make a S-bend easily.
