looking very good.Will be watching....
Re: Stow Away Tables!
Work in Progress:
I had to change the design of the table:
1. Replaced the locking hinges with bigger, stronger traditional hinges
2. Added some metal bars to stabilize the fold out legs.
Started laying out the first level of track.
Photo shows the track in the stowed position.
Next steps: install the wire and paint the track on the first level before building the second level.

Re: Stow Away Tables!
I've been doing some more work.
Here are some photos
BTW - I moved my finish line to the end of the pit area - I did not realize that the lap counter system I have starts at zero - and then counts from there.

- Long straight section where all the cars will line up and includes a pit lane. You can see the counter LEDs at the bottom of the picture.

- I inserted wire in the track where my tunnel will reside. I added some wood putty - which needs to be sanded. I'm even going to install a strip of white LEDs to add lighting inside the tunnel!

Re: Stow Away Tables!
Now I'm cooking with gas! I sanded the track that will be under the tunnel and painted this section with the Plasti Dip paint. I'm glad I bought grey paint (that's "gray" for the folks here in the U.S.) because after the paint dried, it looks darker than the color on the lid. I also ordered a strip LED kit for sewing machines. As I build up the "tunnel" I will install these LEDs inside the tunnel to add to the effect. Once I build the tunnel - I will start laying the next set of MDF board for the track that goes up to the second level. I'm even planning on installing "rocks".
Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Looking good. Keep the pictures coming.
Re: Stow Away Tables!
I have painted the "Tiger's Teeth". After I spray a flat clear coat over the white and red paint I will be ready to cover the tunnel area and continue building the track!

Re: Stow Away Tables!
I've not been working on my track, for a while. My mother came out to Arizona to visit, for my birthday. I love her so much! She will be 82, in December. So I took a break from my hobbies and other activities. So . . . . today I took on the tunnel!
This was probably the most complex part of my track. It has so many compound angles that it was very challenging to make. I even added lights, inside the tunnel for effect!
Now I can build the rest of the track that goes to the higher level.
I'll keep you posted.

Re: Stow Away Tables!
I've completed my second level - now to embed the wires and lane change plates - then to paint the track - then to do the landscape!
BTW - I've noticed that some of the Forum images and icons look like they are not imaged correctly - like they are messed up.

Re: Stow Away Tables!
Think BIG !
Thats right.
MagRacing has its potential with large tracks, no electricy, n slot, just lot of fun.
Make big area around the track, no marschalls!
Looking forward wmibert

Re: Stow Away Tables!
Thanks!
I noticed the third photo I posted is an older one - so I've updated another in its place.
BTW - the icons look OK on my computer tonight - but some of the older pictures don't - but when I shared the forum with a friend at work - on his computer and mine - the older pictures were OK.
I'm not sure what is going on - but it looks like the MAGracing Forum web page is now working!
